Over the past yr or two, my decidedly normal pare became very "combination."

Maybe it was my cross-country move from NYC to the Bay Area, or maybe it's just that I'm in my 30s now, but I'grand constantly looking for the correct products for my sensitive, combination skin.

Here are some things I've been testing:

The skincare products I've been testing lately (L to R): boscia Charcoal Mattifying Makeup Setting Spray, Erborian Bamboo Matte Lotion, Murad Oil-Control Mattifier SPF 15 and Sephora Clarifying Booster

I don't like heavy skin products, especially now that it's consistently over 85 degrees every solar day, so I've been trying out all kinds of unlike things, from setting sprays and toners, to SPF and skincare boosters.

Kickoff up is Erborian Bamboo Matte Lotion (available at Sephora for $34). It's the product I've been using the longest of this agglomeration, and for skilful reason. I love it! Information technology's definitely earned a place in my skincare routine.

Information technology's really a toner, and I picked information technology up randomly 1 day at Sephora because I'd been curious about it for a while. As you can meet in the photograph in a higher place, a powder settles at the bottom of the canteen. I just give it a quick shake and utilise directly to my face.

Since my peel is classic combination right now — dry on my cheeks and shiny forth my T-zone — I can't actually get downwardly with strong toners because they just make my peel feel besides tight, but this Bamboo Matte Balm manages to work well wherever I employ it.

The water is infused with moisturizing bamboo, but the pulverisation helps soak upwardly oil.

I love applying this later on I launder my face. It only balances my pare so perfectly.

I've too been testing Murad Oil-Command Mattifier SPF xv (also available at Sephora, and it'southward $twoscore).

It's a moisturizer with SPF, and I definitely like the convenience of having one production that does both. It does a dandy job preventing shine, but at the terminate of the day, my cheeks feel a scrap tight when I use it. I don't recall that translates into visual dryness, but I can feel it!

Besides, I feel like SPF fifteen is pretty low for a sunscreen, and I like to vesture SPF 30 at least. My uncle was diagnosed with skin cancer when I was in junior high, and even though he was able to become handling in time and is doing just great now, that feel alerted me to the danger of not protecting myself from the lord's day.

I'm gonna get off my soapbox at present, simply outside of the low SPF, I call up this Murad does a adept job at keeping my skin matte.

Since I wasn't wowed by the Murad Oil-Command Mattifier, I've also been testin boscia White Charcoal Mattifying MakeUp Setting Spray (likewise available at Sephora, and it'southward $38).

It'southward a spray infused with white charcoal, and it'south meant to exist mattifying and moisturizing. You lot tin can also use it hroughout the 24-hour interval to mattify your peel without messing upward your makeup.

So, information technology took me a lilliputian while to go the hang of this spray because it's non a super charged mattifier. Like, information technology says on sephora.com that it "gently mattifies."

And so this is not the spray y'all'd use to expect 100% matte (which is actually fine by me, since I'm all about that glow), only itis the spray you lot'd use when you lot want to avoid high intensity polish and make your makeup last longer.

I really like using this because it takes the edge off the shine just doesn't make my skin experience tight at all. I like to spray my makeup brush or sponge with information technology before applying my makeup, and and so I'll spray information technology all all over my face after I finish my base. I learned that this will make my mascara run, though, and then I make sure to spray it before I employ mascara.

Overall, I like this spray. If you have very oily skin, then it may not be strong enough, just if yous have combination skin, it might work really well for you.

Lastly, here's somethingvery new to me: the Sephora Clarifying Skincare Booster (for some reason I tin can't notice it online) is meant to be added to your skincare. The key ingredient is zinc, and while the main objective is to reduce the appearance of pores, it's also supposed to mattify your skin too.

Y'all can employ it day and night, and while I've just used it for about a week, I like it and then far. I oasis't had whatsoever bad reactions to it, and when I add a couple of drops to my moisturizer, my skin is left with a squeamish matte canvas for my makeup.

Of these four products, my favorites are the Erborian toner and the boscia setting spray, and I'd dearest to hear any recommendations you have!
